In Loving Memory of Yan Du

Dear Henry, Lachlan and Chelsea, we were very sad to hear of Yan's passing. She was an extraordinary person who was kind, humble and always welcoming. We will miss her and our conversations with her. Yan will love on in our thoughts and hearts.

Dear Henry, Lachlan & Chelsea, Yan has always been one of my favourite cousin (and person), ever since I was a child. I still remember meeting her for the first time when she came back to Hong Kong for a visit, we were just little kids back then. She's always so happy, with her beautiful smile, bringing rays of sunshine wherever she goes. I've always enjoy hanging around her, the big sister I've always wanted to have. The last time I met your family was in Canada, when Lachlan was just a toddler (uncle Finsen made a balloon bike for him then and I remembered how Yan tried to think of a way to transport that back to Australia. It showed how Yan cherish every little thing full heartedly). That was so long ago, I was hoping that we could meet again soon... I can't even begin to express my sorrow to just found out today that she's left us at such a young age, I've always wanted to meet with Yan when I have a chance to travel to Australia... I miss you cousin Yan Yan... Rest in peace.

To our beloved Yan, It is still so difficult to accept that you have left us. We will all miss you dearly. Rest in Peace xxx

It’s hard to imagine anyone as strong as her, The one who always smiles when that’s the last thing she feels like doing, Who laughs when she feels like crying, To make sure we know she is here for us, When she feels her worst you wouldn’t know, A woman so strong she is everyone’s superhero, Not just a Mum but a best friend, a loving hug, and the strongest woman I know.

I have very fond memories of many happy hours chatting with Yan while Lachlan and Daevan played tennis and a few chats too when we met around the netball courts. My family and I’s thoughts are with you, Lachlan and Chelsea at this sad time . We are so deeply sorry for your profound loss.

I was so sad to hear the news, after working with Yan for a while some years ago she made a lasting impression as one of those people who really took an interest in others and indeed had a beautiful soul. I will really miss seeing her at some of the reunions with other members of the team I worked with at Qantas and sincere condolences to the family.

Such a beautiful soul who showed real care and love. You and your infectious energy will be something that will be sorely missed in many of or lives. :'(
