In memory of someone special

In October of 2023, Malcolm was diagnosed with Metastatic Peritoneal Mesothelioma with Malignant Ascities. This diagnosis took everyone by surprise, Mal was never sick. One of the hardest parts of this sudden diagnosis was the lack of information or research about Peritoneal Mesothelioma, this made digesting the news difficult as there was nothing to read for answers or comfort.

Mals family was with him every step of the way, including all the hospital appointments leading into him commencing treatment, where very few answers were still available, to his appointments for his pigtail drain insertions to deal with the malignant ascities, to his Port-a-Cath insertion.

Unfortunately, the Cancer was too advanced and the few cycles of Immunotherapy were unable to knock the Cancer down, Mal sadly passed away at home surrounded by family on the 24^th of December 2023.

Prior to this diagnosis, he was our charming, sarcastic, quick-witted joker with a wicked sense of humour. He was a great husband, father, brother and friend. Everyone who knew him feels his absence very deeply, he will be forever missed.

As a way to honour Mals memory, we would love to bring awareness and give back.

 Contributions made will go directly to Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF), giving scientists access to the cutting-edge technology and equipment they need to find new and improved ways to prevent, detect and treat ALL types of cancer.
