Lambros Army March Against Cancer Matched Giving Day FAQs
We are excited to announce that on the 15th of April 2024, from 8.00am, we are runnning a Matched Giving campaign. All donations made for 24-hours will be matched (up to $20,000). Below we have addressed key questions you may have around this exciting day. Thanks for supporting the Lambros and brilliant cancer research.
What is Double Impact Day and how does it work?
For a 24 hour period, starting from 8.00am on the 15th April 2024, all donations made to the Lambros Army March Against Cancer via https://donate.acrf.com.au/event/2024lambrosmarch will be matched dollar for dollar. The matching will only occur for donations made to the Lambros Army March Against Cancer Campaign and will not be matched for other donations made to ACRF during this time period.
How much are we hoping to raise?
During the 24-hour matched giving campaign period, Lambros Army March Against Cancer are hoping to raise $20,000 (on top of the $20,000 matched giving amount) that will go towards cutting-edge cancer research into all types of cancer.
What happens if the person providing the matching gifts decides to pull out of the campaign?
Who is providing the $20,000 matching gift?
A generous donor (who has asked to remain private), has pledged $20,000 to Australian Cancer Research Foundation's Lambros Army March Against Cancer Fundraiser. The amount has been confirmed in writing and is committed to the campaign.
Once the matching amount has been exhausted, communications will be updated across https://donate.acrf.com.au/event/2024lambrosmarch and the acrf.com.au website to reflect that the matching campaign is no longer running. Along with this, an announcement will be made on both ACRF and Lambros Army's social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook). This announcement will be made in a reasonable time-frame/as soon as is practical and may be impacted by the time of day at which point the allocation is exhausted.
If the $20,000 matching amount isn't exhausted / fully utilised, the money will not be used again for a matching campaign for Lambros Army March. The donor may decide to donate or support ACRF through other means, but that is at the donors discretion.
What happens to donations made after 8.00am 15th April or once the allocation is exhausted?
Donations will still be accepted and will still go towards pioneering research into all types of cancer however, they won't be matched. These essential funds will be used to fuel the next round of ACRF grants as we move forward in our mission for a world without cancer.
