Why should I move for ACRF this February?

Cancer is a disease like no other. It’s a millennia-old problem that needs ingenious, out-of-the-box solutions. Luckily, the field of cancer research is populated with the brightest minds, ready to break new grounds. And ACRF has the ability to identify and back the most brilliant ideas — the ones that can take us closer to ending cancer, once and for all. Because behind every success story is brilliant research.

We fund research into all types of cancer

Since 1984, ACRF has facilitated the investment of over $174m in 83 cancer projects Australia-wide to discover new and improved ways to prevent, detect and treat all types of cancer.
We provide large grants that make an impact

Annually we award grants of between $1 million and $10 million to visionary cancer research projects. We back bold ideas that explore new ways of approaching the challenges attached to treating this complex disease.
We support cancer research Australia wide

We provide the brightest researchers in Australia with the technology, equipment and infrastructure needed. We are proud to say that cancer research in Australia is consistently punching above its weight.

Ashleigh's story

My name is Ashleigh Mills and I’ve been a supporter of Australian Cancer Research Foundation, and a proud member of its community, since 2015.

2015 was a big year for me - it was the year that I got admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW, started my first full time job in the city and moved out of my family home and in with friends. It was also the year that I got diagnosed with cancer.

The months and years that followed that diagnosis were full of challenges, and a lot of life lessons. But throughout it all, one thing that became increasingly clear to me was the importance of science-backed research in answering the questions posed time and time again by cancer.
